The danger of artificial intelligence isn’t that it’s going to rebel against us, but that it’s going to do exactly what we ask it to do, says AI researcher Janelle Shane. Sharing the weird, sometimes alarming antics of AI algorithms as they try to solve human problems — like creating new ice cream flavors or recognizing cars on the road — Shane shows why AI doesn’t yet measure up to real brains.
The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design — plus science, business, global issues, the arts and more. Best way to make a great AI is to give it human emotion and a a sense of moral conciousness.

That or you can upload a humans brain. Sounds stupid and mad, but it is perfection if you don't want the AI to go on a rogue killing spree, because it's programed to "protect" humanity.

its also funny how much we have to learn alongside the AI as we go along.

Roko’s Basilisk is a thought experiment based upon the concept of a super intelligent A.I, wreaking time travel vengeance upon all those who did not contribute to its’ creation. Which implies that by even knowing about this, you then become a potential target and thus a victim of that A.I.’s future wrath.

Those gross Harry Potter jelly beans were really popular. Maybe the AI was on to something with those ice cream flavors.

AI isn't so much of the danger it's the collective of narcacistic predators who have programmed the damn thing

If cleverly designed AI lacks real understanding of the goals it is given, and is prone to bizarre failures, then: why do we believe our brains, supposedly randomly evolved, actually understand the world as it is, rather than simply producing the minimum results required to survive?

In the same category as the screening out of women's resumes: it appears that AI can reliably identify ethnicity from medical imaging.

This just sounds like a context issue, like small children! I say we need to give more knowledge, more association, more familiarities, more context just so that way it's not a fresh start everytime it boots up 😂

If you have so much input is it thinking for itself you end up having to tell it what to do it should have to learn for itself and evolve uninterrupted or it's just a program

A man who worked for the cia told me we have to look out and petition to not allow A.I. robots to become a normal part of our culture in society. He said this more than anything would cause the destruction and extinction of mankind as a species. He said more than famine, or war, or covid, we must be alert and steadfast against A.I. Though it helps small ego men build things; robots on a mass scale must be avoided so we can survive as a species.

Really.
Don't!
